Case Study :: Aldila
RICH & THE SCIENTIST
Aldila sells golf shafts to all the top club makers as well as to the general public.
Aldila was looking for a way to talk about their technological breakthroughs in the area of golf shaft development without being too dry in it's explanation. They were also looking for a device that could have some equity and longevity.
We came up with the idea of the "Aldila Scientist". This spot was conceived to introduce the new "Aldila One" breakthrough graphite shaft and showcase the fact that Aldila is the "top selling graphite shaft company in the world." The spot also wanted to associate Aldila with one of their top tour players who use Aldila shafts.
Rich Beem, the PGA Champion is seen hitting balls while a scientist (Charlie Dell) gives us the technological points behind the Aldila One shaft. At the end of the spot, Beem gives us the layman's reason for getting this shaft. " You'll crush it."
Response to the spot was excellent and immediately helped Aldila to establish a strong Brand Identity.
