Mike West
Mike started to show an interest in film early on. In fact, his mother
tells the story that the first thing he said was not "Mommy" or "Daddy", but
"Rosebud".
At around 8 years old, he and his brother Mark borrowed their
fathers 8mm camera and directed, shot, acted in and edited their own short
films.
After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in film from California State
University Fullerton, Mike landed a job at NBC as a page. It was during his
tenure at NBC that he started to meet people that would help him get a
series of freelance assignments over the next several years. These jobs
included production assistant, set dresser, and assistant director.
In 1993
Mike was asked to help spearhead Wyoming Films' sales efforts to areas
outside their home base (Seattle at the time).
After a short while he and
his brother took over the company, moved it to Venice, CA and expanded its
business to include clients from around the country.
